- Entering the EdTech Entrepreneurship World [ENTER 2020-2023; Grant No: 621584]; Funded to the University of Piraeus Research Center - UPRC (A. Ioannou as local coordinator- Research Centre on Interactive media, Smart systems and Emerging technologies – CYENS) under the scheme ERASMUS+ KA2: Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices - Knowledge Alliances. - Research Centre on Interactive media, Smart systems and Emerging technologies [CYENS 2018-2024; Grant No: 739578]; Funded to the Municipality of Nicosia-Cyprus and the three public Universities of Cyprus (A. Ioannou as participating researcher and Team Leader of the Multidisciplinary Research Group on Interactive Media and Education/Edutainment) under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme - scheme H2020-WIDESPREAD-01-2016-2017 (Teaming Phase 2). The project aims the establishment of a cross-disciplinary Research Center in Cyprus to integrate research in the Visual Sciences, Human Factors and Design, and Communications and Artificial Intelligence. The grant awarded was 0.5 million EUR in Phase 1 (2015-2016) for the development of the business plan for the Centre. - Qualitative Study on SELFIE Impact [QUASI 2021-2022; eTendering JRC/SVQ/2021/MVP/0074]. Funded to the University of Valladolid (A. Ioannou as local coordinator- Research Centre on Interactive media, Smart systems and Emerging technologies – CYENS). This 100K project aims to understand the digital readiness of 15 schools from three different countries in Europe (Spain, Netherlands, and Cyprus), explore how SELFIE (a JRC self-reflection tool on schools' digital capacity) is used and perceived by its users, identify and describe the impact of SELFIE, situate its impact in the more complex nexus of interrelated concepts like: digital readiness of schools, school management models, the changing landscape of technologies, theory of change in organizations, integration of innovation in education as well as the datafication of schools, and provide a set of recommendations on the improvement of the tool, support material, school actions, best practices, stakeholder actions, social innovation actions.

- Enhancing Research Understanding through Media [ERUM 2019-2022; Grant No: 051482]; Funded to the University of Vienna - Austria (A. Ioannou as local coordinator - Social Computing Research Centre - SCRC) under the scheme ERASMUS+ KA203 - Strategic Partnerships for higher education. The core objectives of this 325.301€ project lie in the quality of information today, between mis- and disinformation or so-called “fake news”. - YICY2020 – Climate KIC [Young Innovators 2020 – Climate KIC; January 2020 – December 2020; Grand No: 200491] funded to the Cyprus University of Technology (A. Ioannou as collaborating researcher) under the EIT- European Institute of Technology. The project’s consortium includes the Cyprus University of Technology (Lead Partner), the Cyprus Energy Agency and the Centre for Systems Solutions in Wroclaw- Poland. - Limassol – One city, the whole world [Μια Πόλη, ο Κόσμος Όλος, ΥΕ/ ΥΑ/ ΤΑΜΕ/ 2015-2016 and 2016-2017]; Funded to the Limassol Municipality and other authorities in Cyprus (Cyprus Interaction Lab as subcontractor). This project is part of the integration programs by local authorities to enforce solidarity, progress and prosperity starting from the inclusion of the immigrants in the island. In this project the Cyprus Interaction Lab/Andri Ioannou, as a subcontractor conducted the technology-enhanced interventions using interactive tabletops to help reduce conflict and promote social perspective taking and collaboration between students in public schools in Cyprus with a large number of migrants. http://integrationlimassol.com/

This 2 million EUR project aims to design and implement a browser-based architecture for the protection of minors from malicious actors in online social networks and provide an effective protective net against cyberbullying and sexually abusive acts. This 25000 euro project aimed to explore innovative, multimodal learning environments for the support of problem based learning in higher education, particularly design education.
